An eyebrow hair transplant is a cosmetic surgical technique that replaces lost eyebrow hair in both male and female patients. Patients with either partial or complete eyebrow loss can use the treatment, which is very non-invasive, to replace any missing eyebrow hair. Excessive plucking, scarring, and eyebrow hair loss brought on by another medical condition are just a few factors contributing to the loss of eyebrow hair.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the hair restoration method used by Harley Street Hair Transplant physicians for eyebrow hair transplants. The beginning of this sensitive operation involves making minuscule incisions that provide a suitable grip for tiny implanted eyebrow hair grafts. Then, to get the most natural-looking results, our medical team takes great care to ensure that the hair has a natural angulation and curvature. The FUE method is chosen because it is not time-consuming, has a quicker recovery time, and gives the most natural and accurate results. Our eyebrow transplant in Manchester is the most well-known procedure across the UK.

An eyebrow transplant surgery can take three to five hours, and the patient requires local anesthesia before the procedure. Our professional eyebrow transplant in Manchester aims to give our patients a new look and regain their confidence. The price range for an eyebrow transplant surgery is £3,000–£4,000. However, an eyebrow transplant is long-lasting and gives natural results. Also, it is much better than microblading and tattooing. Our doctors and staff at Harley Street will ensure that your eyebrow transplant is a pleasant experience with us.

EYEBROW HAIR TRANSPLANT AND IMPLANTS IN LONDON

WHAT IS AN EYEBROW TRANSPLANT?

Carried out by one of our certified hair transplant surgeons, an eyebrow transplant is a surgical procedure that looks to counteract the effects of hair loss and restore a fuller look to your brow. Whether you are considering an eyebrow transplant as a solution to ill health or for any other medical reasons, eyebrow transplants can certainly put you on the path to feeling better about yourself!

As a result of technological advances in the hair transplant industry, eyebrow transplants (sometimes called ‘eyebrow implants’) can now be done using a pain-free procedure called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This treatment looks to take individual donor hairs from another area on your scalp and implant them into the eyebrow area, leaving you with a fuller brow area.

WHAT TREATMENT METHOD IS USED FOR AN EYEBROW HAIR TRANSPLANT?

Due to major advances in hair transplant technology, most eyebrow transplants are done using Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This procedure looks to take individual hair follicles, using a 1mm punch, from your donor area and directly implant these into your brow area using tiny needles.

However, don’t worry if you’re afraid of needles! During the eyebrow transplant, you will be given a local anaesthetic. All you have to do is lie flat and relax!

WHAT SEPARATES AN EYEBROW TRANSPLANT FROM A TYPICAL HAIR TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE?

Other than the area on the head, the key difference between an eyebrow and a traditional hair transplant is the area from which the donor’s hair is taken. Whilst a typical hair transplant looks to take donor hair from the back of the scalp; eyebrow transplants often take hair from the side of the head (near the ear). Typically, hair from this area is shorter than head hair or body hair, and It is better suited to match your existing eyebrow hairs.

SO, WHY IS FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION USED?

FUE has become one of the most popular eyebrow hair transplant methods for a number of reasons. Here’s why:

  • FUE’s extreme accuracy is well suited to eyebrow transplants – during the FUE procedure, each donor’s hair is taken one by one. Unlike alternative surgical procedures that take entire strips of donor hair, the delicate touch that FUE offers enable eyebrow restoration surgery to take place without the need for stitches or obvious signs that you have undergone any form of surgery.
  • The process isn’t time-consuming – what separates FUE from other hair transplant methods like that the surgery is quicker than surgical alternatives. FUE does not require any microscopes or separation of larger hair grafts/strips. Moreover, as patients are given only a local anesthetic, there’s no prolonged hospital stay. This means you can get straight back to your busy life with minimal hassle!
  • FUE has a reduced recovery time when compared to other surgical treatments – given that your donor hair follicles are implanted one by one, this reduces the amount of scarring post-surgery. As a result, this means you should expect a short recovery time and be looking tip-top within 6-7 days.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON THE DAY OF MY EYEBROW TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE?

On the day of your eyebrow transplant, be sure to take the afternoon off work or come during the weekend. The full surgery will take between 3 and 5 hours. As you will be given a local anaesthetic during the procedure, you’ll be able to drive, and there is no need to stay overnight.

To make your brow look full and natural, between 200 and 500 donor hairs may be required. These hair follicles/grafts will be extracted and re-implanted individually.

EYEBROW TRANSPLANT AFTERCARE

For the subsequent 6-7 days after the surgery, be prepared to expect a small amount of scarring. The FUE process uses tiny needles to implant hair follicles, so there may be some small scabs to persist with.

Feel free to get in touch with us if your donor or recipient site is feeling a little bit sour. We’re happy to help!

In the following weeks and months, it is natural to see your new hairs outgrow the eyebrows that are already there. As the implanted hair follicles have come from your scalp, where they grow quicker and longer, they may need a little bit of extra training. Make sure you give them a good trim and curl in order to have them follow your brow’s natural arch.

WHY HAVE AN EYEBROW HAIR TRANSPLANT?

There are a number of explanations as to why many of our patients come to us requiring an eyebrow transplant. Whilst it is often difficult to avoid the problem of hereditary hair loss, damaged or thin eyebrows can often occur as a direct result of environmental and social influences. Here are some of the explanations as to why many of our patients require an eyebrow transplant:

  • Compulsive Plucking – this is where hair loss, or thinning, occurs as a direct result of over-plucking the hairs in your eyebrow area.
  • Scar Coverage – Many patients often want an eyebrow transplant as a means of covering facial injury sustained in events such as physical assault, car crashes, or thermal and chemical burns
  • Nutrient Deficiencies – believe it or not, eyebrow hair loss can sometimes occur as a result of not getting enough vitamins into your diet. Vitamins A, E, and Zinc all play an important role in producing natural oils for your hair.
  • Medical Treatments – Many medical treatments (especially cancer treatments, such as Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy) can often lead to hair loss all over the body.

HOW MUCH DOES A HAIR TRANSPLANT COST?

The cost of eyebrow transplant surgery varies between £3,000-£4,000. This, primarily, is dependent upon the severity of the hair loss. With any hair transplant, the main bulk of the cost comes with the number of hairs needed to be extracted and re-implanted. With FUE, you can expect to pay between £1.89 and £3.99 for every hair follicle/graft that is used.

Whilst this may be a little pricey at first glance, it’s important to note that eyebrow transplantation can put a stop to further loss of eyebrow hair. FUE takes healthy hair follicles from elsewhere in order to promote hair growth in the brow area. As such, this means you should only need one procedure and never have to worry in the future.

Also included in our package is a free consultation with one of our certified doctors and extensive aftercare to see how your eyebrow surgery has worked.

ARE EYEBROW TRANSPLANTS A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO HAIR LOSS?

Whilst there are many procedures on the market today that claim to solve the problems of eyebrow loss, none quite compare to an eyebrow transplant. There is no other treatment offering long-term hair restoration, a natural, realistic eyebrow, and an end to further hair loss!

Before they came to our clinic, many patients conducted research into treatments such as Tattooing and Micro-blading. Whilst these can sometimes enable patients to get back to their daily lives without worrying too much about their brows, these procedures neither promote new hair restoration nor are your brows natural looking.

In addition, these procedures are carried out by amateurs opening the door to side effects such as allergic reactions, infections, and further reconstructive surgery. Eyebrow transplants at our clinic are all conducted by medical professionals and provide patients with a safe procedure, natural result, and the capacity for hair regrowth.

WOMEN AND EYEBROW TRANSPLANTS AND IMPLANTS

It’s certainly no secret that eyebrow transplants are more popular with women than men. There are many reasons why women may be concerned with the look of their brows. Whether it is natural thinning as a result of getting older, or one of the social explanations stated above, many women are concerned by eyebrow hair loss or their naturally thin brows.

Moreover, this comes as no surprise when considering the social pressures placed upon women to constantly look their best. With celebrities such as Cara Delevingne and Jessica Alba lauded for their full-looking brows, it’s no surprise that women believe healthy eyebrows to be a sign of beauty.

What is quite disheartening is that many of the preliminary measures women take to cover up their thinning brows can actually cause more hair loss! The constant application of makeup can be really damaging to your eyebrow hair.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How long do eyebrow transplants last?

Eyebrow transplants are a permanent solution that can last a lifetime. Using the FUE technique, you will start to see noticeable growth at four to six months after the surgery. The final result will be visible at around 10 months.

  • Do eyebrow transplants keep growing?

It is generally believed that eyebrow transplants will keep growing in much the same way as hair on the back of the scalp. This means that while most eyebrows will stop growing when they are about a half inch long or shorter, transplanted hair may continue to grow.

  • Are eyebrow transplants painful?

During an eyebrow transplant procedure, local anaesthesia will be used to minimise pain and discomfort. Medication can be used to help manage any discomfort, and many patients report only minimal discomfort during the procedure. Some patients may choose to sleep, listen to music, or watch television during the procedure.
